The extreme apex is bifid, the lower process being rounded, the upper more pointed.

In M. Typhon it is longer than the anterior ones, and bifid at the apex; in M. lanigerum they are equal in length.

In Cœlioxys conica and others, those of the latter sex are bifid at the apex, but those of the former acute.

Tendrils semi-continuous to semi-intermittent, bifid, dehisce early.

The teeth of all species of Smilisca are spatulate and bifid.
